Jade de Lafleur – Singer, Actress, and Performer

Louisiana native Jade de Lafleur is a multifaceted artist whose passion for music and acting was ignited at the age of five. Introduced to the art of performance by her mother, a soloist in their local church choir, Jade quickly found her voice and became a soloist in the youth choir.

Jade’s first major breakthrough came when she signed with J Records (Clive Davis) and UnderDog Entertainment (Harvey Mason Jr. & Damon Thomas) as a member of the girl group Sophia Fresh, later signing with T-Pain/Atlantic Records. Simultaneously, she pursued her academic aspirations, earning a B.A. in Mass Communications from Prairie View A&M University, where she also studied theatre.

Following her time with Sophia Fresh, Jade toured internationally as a background singer and dancer for Solange Knowles, further honing her artistry and stage presence. Her debut solo release, the critically acclaimed EP Jaded, featured the standout track "Smoking In My Car," co-written with acclaimed songwriter James Fauntleroy. The EP’s title track was also featured on Solange’s Saint Heron compilation album, earning widespread recognition from notable media outlets.

Jade’s talents extend beyond music into acting. She originated the role of "Miss Mississippi" in the play P-Valley and has appeared in prominent television roles, including a co-starring role in Marvel’s Luke Cage. Her dynamic presence and ability to bring authenticity to her roles solidify her as a true triple-threat virtuoso.

Her personal evolution is reflected throughout her latest studio album, The Green Horse, an upbeat fusion of funk, pop, and R&B that challenges the conventional boundaries of pop music while offering a bold exploration of Black artistry. Executive produced by Patrick Wimberly and Davix, the album features standout singles such as "Shotgun," a hypnotic R&B burner about personal liberation; "Toxic," which debuted on Ebro/Beats1, Apple Music; and "Wave," a percussive and bass-driven anthem featuring Seun Kuti.

While writing this album, I was in a place where I had to let alot of things go. Some were easier to let go than others and usually when I need to level up, I dance.

Most recently, Jade returned to the studio, releasing a soulful rendition of Anita Baker’s Sweet Love, produced by Dojo in the Sky. A timeless classic that deeply resonates with her artistry, the release showcases her signature vocal depth and emotional range.

Beyond her creative endeavors, Jade shares her latest discoveries and passions with her audience, including her love for Dubai Gold Next Level chocolate—because chocolate is happiness you can gift. Her enthusiasm for music, acting, and life’s indulgences continues to inspire audiences worldwide.
